Three cars for Toyota in 2017?

Tommi Mäkinen and his men are not letting up their efforts. The program WRC du Toyota GAZOO Racing continues under the leadership of the four-time world rally champion. The team based in Puupola in Finland (where Tommi Mäkinen Racing is based) intends to put its Yaris WRC into action very quickly.

“Right now we are in the design process, explains the Finn. Our team of engineers and designers, along with our suppliers, worked tirelessly to stay on schedule and develop a car that could win. Assembly of the Yaris will therefore begin very soon.

Testing is expected to begin in spring 2016. A schedule has already been established with the aim of carrying out sessions in Finland and elsewhere in the world. » TMG will ultimately be involved in the project, with the design of the Yaris engine.

However, recruitment continues within the technical team, while discussions with potential pilots continue. Tommi Mäkinen made no secret of the fact that his team hoped to field « at least two, if not three cars. »
