The route for the opening round of the 2017 WRC has been revealed by the Automobile Club of Monaco. 85% of the route will be renewed.

A thoroughly revised Monte-Carlo for 2017

The 2017 edition of Monte-Carlo will be particularly scrutinized. On the one hand, the opening round of the World Rally Championship will see action for the first time the WRC meeting the new technical regulations, including the Citroën C3 and Toyota Yaris. Furthermore, the route of the winter classic will be revised to 85% compared to 2015.

After a shakedown contested on Wednesday January 18 over 3,35 km near Gap (a portion identical to 2015), the competitors of the 85th edition of the Rally Monte-Carlo will begin the next day at night with the first ES Entrevaux–Val-de-Chalvagne–Ubraye, 21,25 km long before heading to the 25,36 km Bayons – Bréziers.

The second day will be the main course of this Monte-Carl' with Agnières-en-Dévoluy – Le Motty (24,53 km) as a starter, followed by the special stages of Aspres Lès Corps – Chaillol (38,84 km) and St Léger. Mélèzes – Ancelle – La Bâtie-Neuve (16,83 km). These sectors will be used a second time in the afternoon.

The third stage will consist of a new loop with Lardier and Valença – Oze (31,15 km) and La Bâtie Monsaleon – Faye (16,72 km), while in 2015 the route took the Lardier and Valença – Faye section. over 51,6 km. These two stages will have to be completed twice in the morning before returning to the Bayons – Breziers special (25,36 km).

The final day will take the survivors on the legendary roads of the Nice hinterland between Luceram and Col St Roch to start (5,56 km). Will follow the famous passage to the Col de Turini in the La Bollène-Vésubie – Peira Cava sector, before a return between Luceram and Col st Roch, then the Power Stage contested on the slopes of Turini.
