Dani Sordo certainly got on the podium at the Tour de Corse, but could have won second place without a Power Stage where the Spaniard was unable to contain the return of Sébastien Ogier.

A podium that does not completely satisfy Dani Sordo

For the third time in his career, Dani sordo est monté sur la troisième marche du podium du Tour de Corse. Un résultat qui complète le week-end réussi de Hyundai with the victory of Thierry Neuville, but which leaves a bitter taste for the Spanish driver.

On the one hand, Sordo lost second place in the final timed sector of the event against the Ford Fiesta, although reduced by Sébastien Ogier. On the other hand, the native of Torrelavega had to deal with an i20 which did not meet his expectations on asphalt, especially at the start of the race.

“It was a difficult weekend for us, even though we finished third, Sordo emphasized. We have to be happy in the end because at the start of the weekend everything was going in the wrong direction and the feeling of the car was a bit strange. Almost a lottery sometimes with our feelings in the car which did not correspond to the times achieved in the special.

But after a little work, it was better in some stages and in others, not. It was a complicated weekend. We are on the podium, but we are not happy overall »

Dani Sordo also clarified the main parameter on which, according to him, to work with the Hyundai technicians. “It was a bit difficult to manage the tires and know how to attack with tires like these. We need to work a little more on these settings for the next events on this surface. »
