Rally Sweden – A prince, cold and local specialties in the service park

In Sweden, a rally is never just for teams or drivers. The organizers constantly think about the public and in particular people who come out of curiosity and who are not absolutely passionate about cars or competition. This is the case on this Rally of Sweden.

Given the temperatures in this country, it is always comfortable to provide an indoor space where people can eat and get warm. It is then possible to try some of the local specialties. This also allows sponsors or exhibitors to promote their products.

In Umeå, the service park is very easy to find and reach. Just take bus No. 1 and get off at the Dragonskola stop. After 5 minutes of walking through a park where it is better not to deviate from the path so as not to end up with snow up to your knees, the first yellow caps of the volunteers responsible for carrying out checks appear. The first structures are not far away. During Friday, the temperature was very reasonable, but the presence of a freezing wind made it feel like -15 C°. This did not prevent the public from coming and admiring the work of the different teams. When the WRC goes down to town, it's a shame not to take advantage of it and the children that a teacher had the excellent idea of ​​bringing to discover the rally will surely remember it.

Ils pourront raconter qu’ils ont vu le prince Carl Philip de Suède en combinaison prêt à piloter une Toyota GR Yaris durant la dernière spéciale du jour avec Petter Solberg comme copilote. L’ultime chrono ayant son final tout proche du centre-ville, le public a peu à peu déserté le parc d’assistance pour se rendre dans l’espace prévu pour regarder le spectacle.
