A Helsinki Battle as a preamble to the Rally Finland

The concept of the future Helsinki Battle remains very different from that of the Fafe Rally Sprint. If the Portuguese event takes place on the old route of what can be considered the Portuguese Turini, the Helsinki Battle will take place on a city circuit in the Finnish capital, which is not a hub of the rally WRC, to celebrate 20 years of sponsorship between Neste Oil and 1000 Lakes.

Several pilots have already responded. The world champion Sébastien Ogier and the Finn Jari-Matti Latvala of course, but also Mads Ostberg (Citroën), Thierry Neuville and Juho Hänninen (Hyundai) will be there. In addition to current drivers, former world rally glories are expected. Markku Alén, Juha Kankkunen, Tommi Mäkinen and Marcus Grönholm should take part in this event which will take place on July 26.

“It’s fantastic to see the reception the event has received from the two best teams in today’s rally and the legendary drivers who have agreed to take part. The city authorities were also very happy with the event and offered us a unique location to stage this meeting. » said Marketing Director of Neste Oil, Sirpa Tuomi.
