Towards just under 100 km of ES in Australia

Yesterday, the organizers of the Rally from Australia, final of WRC 2019, announced that the route of the Antipodes event should be greatly reduced due to fires which are devastating regional New South Wales.

This Monday is a route offering only less than 100 km of special stages which appeared on the event website. Four ES would thus remain on the program, to be covered several times to obtain very precisely 94,37 km against the clock and 593,52 km of total distance.

The Destination NSW super-special would increase to 2,40km, when sections of Raleigh (3,16km), Graces (8,68km) and Allens (8,75km) would be used. The route would look like this:

SS1 and 2: Destination NSW SS
SS3 and 4: Raleigh
SS5: Destination NSW SSS
SS6 and 7: Raleigh
SS8 and 9: Destination NSW SSS
SS10, 11 and 12: Graces
SS13 and 14: Raleigh
SS15, 16 and 17: Allens
SS18: Destination NSW SSS
SS19 and 20: Raleigh
SS21: Destination NSW SSS

A detail yet to be confirmed since the official document mentions seven special stages contested on Friday, eight Saturday and four Sunday (i.e. 19 ES), but 21 ES are also mentioned in the name of the ES.

Remember that if the Drivers title is already acquired for Ott Tänak (Toyota), la couronne Constructeurs reste en jeu en Australie, Hyundai Motorsport et le Toyota Gazoo Racing étant en lice pour le sacre.
