Towards a confirmation in June for the Rally of Japan?

Since last August, the prospect of revisiting Japan in the World Rally Championship has been greatly strengthened, with the signing of an agreement between the organizers of the event and the promoter of the WRC. But if the Asian round was expected for 2019, the revelation of the calendar for the current season had leaned in favor of Chile.

2020 must therefore be the year of the return of Rally du Japon, un ajout logique, notamment depuis la mise en place d’un nouveau programme WRC au sein de Toyota, la marque ayant décroché l’an passé le titre mondial des constructeurs.

And if nothing is official yet, Keiji Furuya, Japanese parliamentarian, published a post on his personal blog and its Facebook page, mentioning the visit of Oliver Ciesla, responsible for promoting the World Rally Championship.

A confirmation of the integration of Japan into the calendar could be effective according to Keiji Furuya on June 14 next at the World Motor Sport Council, held on the sidelines of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The event is expected to use asphalt roads in the Aichi and Gifu regions.
