Volkswagen will only think about the title in 2015

For 2013, the Volkswagen team has rather measured ambitions. According to Jost Capito, interviewed in the Red Bulletin (the magazine of Red Bull, sponsor of VW, editor's note), the objective this year will be “to get on the podium” And this “from the second part of the season”. The increase in power of the team is on the program for the following two seasons, announces the director of Volkswagen Motorsports. “In 2014 we want to bring home victories, and in 2015 we will fight for the title”.

After a season spent champing at the bit in a modest Skoda Fabia S2000 with the aim of developing this year's car, Sébastien Ogier is also cautious before Rally of Monte-Carlo, which begins on January 15. “I expect us to finish Monte-Carlo, then we improve rally after rally”, explains the 29-year-old pilot, originally from Gap. “The Polo WRC is much faster than the Skoda we had last year, but now the only way to determine our true speed is by taking part in the competition?.
