Walter Röhrl celebrates 25 years at Porsche

Walter Röhrl will remain eternally associated with the World Rally Championship with his two coronations in 1980 and 1982, but especially with Rally Monte-Carlo, which the German driver won four times with four different brands: FIAT with the 131 Abarth in 1980, Opel with the Ascona 400 in 1982, Lancia with the 037 in 1983 and Audi with the Quattro in 1984.

Exactly 25 years ago, Röhrl gave a new direction to its professional activities by signing a contract with Porsche. A brand with which he had also been involved in rallying in the early 80s, while also being at the heart of the creation of the 959 and the development of four-wheel drive technology for the 964.

From 1993, Walter Röhrl evolved as a development driver and representative of the Weissach brand. The German will participate in the birth of some of the most famous road Porsches, such as the Carrera GT, or the 918 Hybrid, but also the various 911s launched since.
