Wilson: “Ford wants to stay”

“We are in constant contact with Ford representatives,” recalls Malcolm Wilson, whose company M-Sport takes care of the development, preparation and entry of Ford Focus RS WRC in the World Championship. ?I don?t have to explain the current economic situation to anyone, especially in the automobile industry. I know that Ford wants to stay, that Ford has a glorious heritage in the discipline, but it is a decision that comes down to business. »

The Briton is optimistic for the future of the WRC and hopes that recent decisions will encourage Ford to continue its commitment: “Today, the regulations are clearer. We can prepare for the future. We hope that Ford will make a decision in the coming months and that the economic situation will be more favorable with a recovery in new car sales. »

M-Sport has launched two projects based on the new Ford Fiesta: an R2? presented in Sardinia? and a Super 2000 which could serve as the basis for the next official Ford in the World Rally Championship.
