Wilson remains confident for Camilli

The pitfalls of the 84th edition of Rally Monte Carlo will have been right to Eric Camilli and Nicolas Klinger. The duo, for their first race with the Ford Fiesta RS WRC de M-Sport, n’a pu aller plus loin que la sixième épreuve spéciale, victime d’une sortie de route à quelques mètres seulement de l’endroit où Robert Kubica était aussi parti à la faute.

“I approached this frozen portion carefully. The car turned, but we put a wheel on the shoulder, it escaped me and went into the trees below. » explained the Nice native to AUTOhebdo. Damaged roll bar, the Monte-Carlo stopped there for the winner of the 2012 Youth Rally operation.

A shortened premiere of course, but Malcolm Wilson, boss of the British structure, did not fail to support his pilot. “They made a mistake in a place which trapped many other crews, but they remained behind. I have no doubt about their ability to bounce back very quickly … ”  An opportunity that will present itself from the second week of February at the Swedish Rally.
