WRC 2011: with France, without Monte-Carlo

Le Rally of France will be present in WRC in 2011, not Monte-Carlo. Earlier this week, the FIA revealed the provisional calendar for the next World Rally Championship. Unsurprisingly and as AUTOhebdo announced to you last week, the principality test is not on the program. Despite pressure, the FIA has not reinstated the legendary rally, whose pretensions are too far from the requirements of the World Rally. We will still have to wait to see the world's best drivers again on the roads of the south of France.

On the other hand, the World Championship will again pass through France. Despite the alternation rule, France will once again welcome the WRC for a second edition of the Rallye de France? Alsace Rally. This event, for which many spectators are expected in 2010, will therefore allow the French public to meet the WRC drivers at the beginning of autumn. The same weekend is affected, that of September 29 to October 2.

At the start of the season, Sweden will, like this year, open the World Championship and, like in 2010, Mexico will follow. Jordan remains but moves into fourth position, with Rally Portugal brought forward to the end of March. Will Italy, Argentina? which is making its return - Greece, Finland and Germany before returning to Australia, which takes up the torch of the oceanic round, after New Zealand in 2010.

The Rallies of France, Spain and Great Britain will close a season full of thirteen events. Continuity is therefore essential since the alternation is less strong than between the 2009 and 2010 seasons. In fact, of the thirteen rallies scheduled this year, only four (Portugal, Finland, Spain, Great Britain) were on the 2009 calendar. .

2011 calendar:
February 13: Sweden
March 06: Mexico
March 27: Portugal
April 17: Jordan
May 08: Italy
May 29: Argentina
June 19: Greece
July 31: Finland
August 21: Germany
September 11: Australia
October 02: France
October 23: Spain
November 13: Great Britain
