WRC – 2014, learning year for Elfyn Evans

“The start of the year wasn't that disruptive because I knew the level was very high, but I could see lots of areas for improvement. Furthermore, it is encouraging that on certain stages, our times are correct, explains the pilot M-Sport on the official website of WRC. It’s hard to know when I’m going to say, “I’m going all in.” I still see several points where I can clearly improve and also times where I need to take more risks. »

For his first outings of the year, Evans notably achieved a 6th place in Monte-Carlo and a 4th in Mexico, interspersed with a retirement in Sweden. “ The gaps with the leaders are at the level I expected. You must complete the rallies to get the results. The next thing to work on is my consistency on stages, rather than being very fast on some and behind on the next ones. »

Evans will be at the start of the Fafe Rally Sprint on March 29, before starting the rally of Portugal (April 3-6), at the wheel of the M-Sport Ford Fiesta RS WRC.
