WRC – Abbring satisfied with his debut with Hyundai

Kevin Abbring took 11th place in the Rally from Sweden for his debut with Hyundai Motorsport, one minute behind Mads Ostberg who completed the top ten. The Dutchman showed consistency by managing to set times in the top eight on several occasions. The main thing for the young recruit from the Korean manufacturer was to learn on this snowy event while taking advantage of the absence of Dani Sordo.

“It’s a race that I won’t soon forget. I'm happy to have finished it on the occasion of my first participation behind the wheel of the Hyundai i20 WRC », commented Kevin Abbring. " It is a privilege to have been able to tackle the stages of the Rally Sweden who inspire respect. I gained confidence as the race progressed and we also had a few hot moments, inevitable for my first participation. We lacked a little rhythm in our notes in certain places but above all I remember a lot of positive points. »

Kevin Abbring's performance was also appreciated by the team. « Kevin exceeded our expectations by showing maturity. He knew how to keep a cool head and work diligently to finish just outside the top ten.”, added Michel Nandan, Team Principal of Hyundai Motorsport.

Kevin Abbring brought the first point to Hyundai Motorsport N1, the Asian brand's second team.
