WRC – Camilli and Ostberg with M-Sport in 2016

M-Sport will field new crews in the 2016 season. The British team has confirmed the presence of Mads Ostberg and Éric Camilli in the A Team.

The Norwegian will return to a Ford Fiesta RS WRC five years after discovering this model following the withdrawal of Citroën in 2016. As for the Frenchman, he will rise to the highest level of the WRC after taking tenth place in WRC 2 this year in a Fiesta R5. Contacts between the former TMG development driver and Malcolm Wilson were made between the Rally of Spain and Wales Rally GB.

“The Ford Fiesta RS WRC represents a big part of my career and it’s great to return to a team with which I have had many successes”, commented Mads Ostberg. “Soft dirt surfaces are my favorite and we have seen this year that the new Fiesta is very competitive on dirt. I've changed my riding style over the last couple of years and may have to go back to my old ways. It's hard to know how quickly I'll adapt but I remember that the Fiesta is very easy to handle. »

“I will do my first test session this week and I can’t wait to discover the team and the car”, indicated Éric Camilli. “I know the Fiesta RS WRC will be fast, faster than any car I have driven before. I want to do the best job possible, but I know I can't put too much pressure on myself. »

Malcolm Wilson's outfit is also expected to field Lorenzo Bertelli in its B Team. M-Sport is likely to field more crews depending on the events.
