WRC – Dmack hires Ott Tänak for the 2016 season

Dmack will launch into the highest category of the WRC by entering the Dmack World Rally Team for the 2016 season. The British manufacturer will field Ott Tänak and his co-driver Raigo Molder on the 14 rounds of the calendar with a Ford Fiesta RS WRC with which the Estonian defended the colors of M-Sport this year by taking tenth place in the Championship.

Ott Tänak already played with Dmack in the 2014 WRC 2 season where the English brand won the Teams title and took seventh place in Wales Rally GB the same year in WRC. “We have good memories from 2014, the team works hard and I know things have evolved since then. We had a tough season but the speed was there and we can only hope for better with the experience gained”, declared the new recruit of Dmack.

The Estonian has already completed a two-day test session on asphalt last October in Spain and will prepare in early December for the Rally Monte-Carlo contested next January.

“We have been working on this program for six months into our three-year development plan.”, said Dick Cormack, Dmack's managing director. “I believe the combination of M-Sport and Ott is the best platform to help us develop our WRC products and aim for the best times when the opportunity arises. Dmack's strategy is to fight for the WRC title in the future and the only way to achieve this is to focus on the development of our products and contest a full WRC program. »

Dmack has been involved in the discipline for several years, notably offering a drive in WRC 2 with the winner of the Drive Dmack Fiesta Trophy. In 2016, it will be Marius Aasen who will benefit from the reward by playing with the Estonian Sander Parn in a team which will field two cars.
