WRC – Hirvonen chooses last place in Finland

Mikko Hirvonen had the honor of first choosing his position on the road for the first stage of the Rally from Finland, the Citroën driver having achieved the scratch in the qualifying special. Despite the risk of showers, the Finn banked on dry weather and opted for last position, seeking to take advantage of the sweep. The winner of the 2009 edition had the satisfaction of seeing that his opponents followed his strategy, Sébastien Ogier opting for 13th place behind Thierry Neuville.

Riku Tahko, author of the worst time in the qualifying special, will therefore pray for wet weather tomorrow as he will open the road ahead of Martin Prokop and PG Andersson. His compatriot Jarkko Nikara will start in fourth position ahead of Dani Sordo, Kris Meeke, Juho Hänninen, Mads Ostberg, Andreas Mikkelsen, Jari-Matti Latvala and Evgeny Novikov.
