WRC – Hirvonen believes in his chances for the Acropolis

Mikko Hirvonen has still not won a single victory this year after five contested events. The Citroën driver is the leader's closest rival Sébastien Ogier even if the Finn is already 65 points behind before the Rally of the Acropolis. The Scandinavian must react to maintain the title chances of the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi WRT which is 14 units behind Volkswagen Motorsport. The winner of the 2009 edition could make the difference by taking advantage of the proven reliability of the DS3 WRC who will face particularly difficult stages. “From one stage to another, we can encounter very different terrains. It is sometimes very rolling, or conversely completely rutted with large stones all over the road. The reliability of the cars and the resistance of the tires mean that we are almost at full throttle all the time, but endurance still remains a real factor. »

Si Sébastien Ogier remains the favorite after having achieved three successes in the first five events of the Championship, Mikko Hirvonen has good statistics at the Acropolis Rally having reached the podium in the last four editions. The Finn will therefore seek to take the advantage following Citroën's latest success in Argentina with Sébastien Loeb. “We are constantly working with the team to improve the car. We also did a short specific session when we arrived in Greece,” adds the driver of the French team. “I hope that success will be on our side and that we will be able to offer new success to Citroën. »
