WRC – Kevin Abbring separates from Volkswagen

Volkswagen Motorsport is already making headlines in the specialist press with the victory of Sébastien Ogier au Rally from Sweden. The people's manufacturer will also see its workforce strengthened with a third Polo R WRC entered for Andreas Mikkelsen from the Rally of Portugal held from April 11 to 14. However, Kevin Abbring seemed to be put in the hot seat, the Dutchman not having seen his program continue in the WRC after competing in several events last year with a Skoda Fabia S2000 prepared by Volkswagen Motorsport.

Kevin Abbring preferred to end his collaboration with Volkswagen and hopes to move to another team to continue his career at the highest level of rallying. “It was not an easy decision to make”, recognized the Dutch driver on Rallye Magazin. “I always dreamed of one day becoming world champion.
