WRC – Kubica: “Sardinia offers no margin for error”

Un seul objectif pour le team RK M-Sport World Rally et Robert Kubica ce week-end lors du Rally of Sardinia: progress. The Pole achieved a very good 6th place during the last meeting of the WRC (in Argentina) but he still lacks consistency. Too many errors have been made since the start of the season (abandonment in Monte-Carlo and Mexico), we must now confirm, especially on a technical rally like Sardinia. “Like all WRC gravel events, this will be a difficult rally. Not too different from that of Argentina, comments the former Grand Prix winner. All the stages are technical, fast, even very fast in certain places, and narrow. You really have to be very precise, go quickly while keeping the right trajectory. There is no room for mistakes. »

Last year, Kubica won this event in the WRC2 category. Which gives him good hopes in the premier category. “I know this rally a little more, but the objective will be the same. I will try to be at the finish, which means minimizing mistakes. All the stages are very technical and the surface is sandy and therefore quite slippery. All the stages are fast, and even very fast in places, but they are also really narrow. These roads require very precise steering where you have to maintain the trajectory to maintain as much speed as possible in the turns. Sardinia offers no margin for error. »

The Krakow driver will be keen to apply himself tomorrow during the first Super Special at Citta Di Cagliari which will start at 21:08 p.m.
