WRC: the Citroën DS3 soon ready

The news of the arrival of the DS3 caused a stir a few weeks ago, more for reasons of very short deadlines than choice of model. It is finally for 2011 that the future replacement of the C4 is being prepared in WRC, the DS3. “ The DS3 was chosen for marketing reasons because it will be the reference car for Citroën in its category., confides Olivier Quesnel in Australia. We are quite happy to have this car. It's beautiful and under the body, it has the same chassis as the C3, so everything is the same. »

Currently under development, the DS3 “ is 90% ready » according to the director of Citroën Racing. The production DS3, which will be available for sale from March 2010, will be on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.

The DS3 version rally, which will adapt to the new FIA rules, is developed on the basis of the Super 2000 regulations but will be equipped with a 1600 cc turbo engine. “ The path Citroën is heading towards is the WRC, so I prefer to prepare a 1,6 liter car and work on it as best as possible, explains Olivier Quesnel. We are now waiting for the meeting on September 9. We're pretty sure we're going to be moving towards a 1,6 liter engine, both production-wise and overall engine-wise. wanted by the FIA. »

In the meantime, Sébastien is behind the wheel of a C4 WRC. Loeb will try to resume its march forward this weekend in Australia.
