WRC – “The Acropolis, a turning point for Robert Kubica”

After several big disappointments and other fears, Robert Kubica finally managed to claim a victory, last weekend, during the rally of the Acropolis. On one of the toughest events in the world, the Pole finally pocketed, at the wheel of a Citroën DS3 RRC, this success which had so often held out his arms to him this year without ever being offered to him. “Robert has already shown, on dirt and tarmac, that he has real rhythm but he still needed discipline”, judge Yves Matton, his main team at the chevron brand, before discussing the Greek rally. “He had a great race, especially the last stage when he managed his lead. I had the feeling that this was a turning point for him. This certainly bodes well for our shared goals of winning the title in WRC 2 ».

A goal that seems inaccessible for the moment, even according to the former pilot of Formula 1, who is sixth in the Drivers' standings, 33 points behind the leader. “There is always a lot to learn, but it was a very good lesson and a very productive weekend” he noted for his part. “Even when driving slowly, it's still easy to make a mistake when you're racing on a stage for the first time, in difficult conditions. I am now looking forward to going to the Sardinia rally, to put into practice what I learned in Greece”, concluded Robert Kubica. An appointment has been made, from June 20 to 22, in Italy.
