WRC – Latvala already on the ground at Wales Rally GB

Sébastien Ogier (Volkswagen) made a perfect start to the event by winning the first three stages of Wales Rally GB. The complete opposite of his teammate Jari-Matti Latvala who went off the road on the second course and found himself stuck in a ditch, 600 meters after the start.

The three-time world champion has a 13-second lead over Chris Meeke, his closest rival at the end of the first passage of the first stage. The Citroën drivers are in good shape since Mads ostberg is in fourth place, six seconds behindAndreas Mikkelsen. The Volkswagen driver only loses four seconds on the first DS 3 WRC.

Elfyn Evans (Ford) completes the top five already 40 seconds behind the leader of the race. The Welshman is ahead of the i20 WRCs Dani Sordo and Hayden Paddon. Hyundai souffre en ce début de rally with the exit from the road Thierry Neuville and the mechanical problem of Kevin Abring (engine temperature too high) occurred in the third special. The Belgian was signed to the second team to have less pressure.

The top ten is completed by Ott Tänak (ford), Martin Prokop (Ford) and Stéphane Lefebvre (Citroen). Robert Kubica (Ford) was in eighth position before suffering a slow puncture.

Craig Breen (Peugeot 208 T16) is leading the WRC2 with around ten seconds ahead of Teemu suninen (Skoda Fabia S2000) and Eric Camilli (Fiesta R5).

The crews will only benefit from a regroup without assistance before embarking on the second passage of the day's specials from 15:04 p.m. (French time).
