WRC – Latvala found his feet in Argentina

Jari-Matti Latvala and Evgeny Novikov hosted the end of the Rally from Argentina, the duel between Sébastien Loeb et Sébastien Ogier having come to an end when the latter made a mistake in the second stage. After losing time following a puncture forcing him to stop to change a wheel, the Finn set off in pursuit of Evgeny Novikov who had regained third place entering the last day of the event. The Volkswagen driver launched a full attack by taking all the scratch points on Saturday's courses to regain his due and take the three points from the Power Stage as a bonus. The second Volkswagen driver climbs to fourth place in the Championship…73 points behind his teammate at the top of the Championship.

“The last stage was my best day in rallying since I joined Volkswagen,” recognized Jari-Matti Latvala. “The team spirit, the car, everything worked wonderfully, including the driver. I am absolutely delighted to be able to get on the podium for the first time in Argentina. Things haven't always gone well for me here in recent seasons and I'm really happy to have achieved this goal. The rally was exciting and varied. We gave everything to get this third place, especially at the end. Finishing second and third represents a superb result for the whole team. »
