WRC – Craig Breen’s moving return to the stage

Craig Breen certainly experienced his rally the most difficult of his career when he got behind the wheel of a rally car for the first time in Finland after his accident at the Targa Florio where his friend co-driver Gareth Roberts lost his life. The Irishman showed bravery by attacking relentlessly, even leading the category before making a mistake in Ouninpohja's first pass. Although the accident was spectacular, he and his co-driver Paul Nagle escaped unscathed from the series of rollovers. The driver of the Fiesta S2000 regrets not having been able to enjoy a victory again which would have greatly helped him get through this difficult stage, but his thoughts are above all with his deceased friend and his loved ones.

“I’m really disappointed to have crashed so close to the finish”, recognized the Irishman on wrc. Com. “The most important thing is that Paul and I are unharmed. I was really pleased with my performance until this stage. I showed a good pace without attacking too much. I would like to thank the whole team, my family and Gareth's family for their support during these times and I especially thank Paul because he arrived in incredible circumstances and did a superb job. I didn't think I would get back into a rally car. I congratulate PG (Andersson, S-WRC winner) for his impeccable driving during these three stages. »
