WRC – M-Sport with Qatar and Al-Attiyah in 2013

The future of M-Sport was uncertain following Ford's withdrawal from the WRC but Malcolm Wilson's team will be able to continue to run its Fiesta RS WRC thanks to a partnership signed with Qatar as title sponsor. The Cumbrian team will thus be able to enter three Fiesta RS WRCs, one of which will be reserved for Nasser Al-Attiyah. “We are delighted to sign this partnership with such a prestigious partner as Qatar for 2013.”, comments the director of the British team. “This partnership with Nasser and Qatar will enable M-Sport to continue at the top of the sport and we look forward to working together. The work has not stopped since the end of the 2012 season and the entire team is fighting against time in order to benefit from a competitive package next year. »

Nasser Al-Attiyah already competing in the Middle East Rally Championship with a Fiesta RRC prepared by M-Sport, the Qatari was very close to the director of the British team at the Rally from Cyprus where he had also won. The former Citroën driver having separated from the Chevron manufacturer following the brand's partnership with Abu Dhabi, his future will now be contested under the colors of the competition. The winner of the 2011 Dakar will be entered in seven events next season. “We look forward to building our strong partnership with M-Sport and working with them in 2013.”, comments the Qatari. “I have a good knowledge of the car having driven the Fiesta S2000 since its first victories in 2010 and being on the verge of securing my eighth Middle East title with the Fiesta RRC. I can't wait to get behind the wheel of the Fiesta RS WRC and compete in as many events as possible depending on my other sporting commitments. »
