WRC – Mads Ostberg is ready for Sweden

Even though he is Norwegian, Mads Ostberg will be almost at home, from February 7 to 10, during the rally from Sweden. The Qatar pilot M-Sport WRT, who is the only one of his team to have seen the finish during the first event of the season at Monte-Carlo by finishing fifth, hopes to do much better here. In an event that he particularly appreciates, the Nordic driver wants to fight for victory, having finished on the podium in his last two participations (second in 2011, third in 2012, Editor's note).

“I feel really confident before this rally”, says the 25-year-old man. “We really had a good test on Friday”. To perfect his training, the Norwegian took part this weekend on home soil in the Finnskog Rally aboard a Fiesta. WRC. After encountering some technical problems, he set four fastest times during the last five specials to win by a landslide ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen. A good result and valuable experience before embarking on the Swedish event.

“We will try to push the car to its limits. We're expecting a little bit of snow this weekend, but if it's not there and we drive on gravel it could be really complicated... We're going to have to really take care of the tires, because they could easily lose their crampons”, warns Mads Ostberg. “But in any case we are really well prepared for this event and well placed to achieve a good result. We want to win. This is our goal and we will do everything for it.”
