WRC – Mads Ostberg is hungry for victory in Portugal

Mads Ostberg arrives at rally of Portugal by being the first M-Sport Qatar World Rally Team driver in the Drivers' standings. After his first victory in the World Rally Championship (WRC) last year on this same event and after a productive week of tests, the Norwegian arrives here with the objective of playing the leading roles. “It is certainly possible to replicate our good result from last year”, believes the driver who won in difficult conditions ahead of Evgeny Novikov and Petter Solberg, giving the Ford Fiesta RS WRC a hat-trick.

“We had a good week of testing this week and if you look at our performances in Mexico, we know that we have the pace to beat ourselves for the first places", explains Mads Ostberg. “Of course Portugal is slightly different than Mexico, but there is still a lot of experience that we can bring and I am confident that we will cope well with the challenges that present themselves. »

“This rally is tough so we have to make sure we monitor the car and the tires carefully”, further specifies the Norwegian. ?Long stages are always a challenge too, and, as we saw last year, the weather can play a key role. Needless to say, I want to defend last year?s result. We are hungry for victory and I want to win! »
