WRC – Mads Ostberg aims for the best at Rally Sweden

Mads Ostberg will be a prime contender for Rally of Sweden played this week. The Scandinavian is particularly efficient and consistent during this snowy event since he remains on a series of four consecutive podiums, with the best result a second place in 2011. “The Swedish Rally is one of the key moments in my calendar”, confirmed Mads Ostberg. ?With the experience acquired during the 2014 season and good preparation, I hope to perform even better. The new DS3 WRC is very competitive. She should be an asset in these conditions. »

After winning fourth place at the Monte-Carlo Rally, Mads Ostberg will have to be satisfied with this position on the road to the first two stages. This situation does not seem to be a hindrance to his motivation in any way. “Our starting position will give us neither an advantage nor a disadvantage. Starting from fourth place, we know that it will be neither perfect nor completely handicapping whatever the conditions. After a very good event in 2014, I have the ambition to fight to be at the front. This will be my first rally with the DS3 WRC version 2015, playing for victory would be a great performance."

In order to get his bearings with this new version of the DS3 WRC, Mads Ostberg took part in the Finnskog Rally in Norway which was held on February 7. The Scandinavian easily won victory as the only driver entered in a WRC, but the important thing was to prepare for the world event. “It’s perfect preparation before the Swedish Rally. We were able to ride in long stages of more than twenty and thirty kilometers, located in the same region as those we will face this Friday. In addition, the conditions were perfect with excellent weather and a beautiful layer of ice at -10°C in the morning. Thanks to this rally, we confirmed our good tests. »
