WRC – Matton confirms Citroën’s presence in 2015

If Citroën Racing achieves brilliant WTCC debut, the Chevron manufacturer is in more difficulty in WRC since Sébastien's departure Loeb and the arrival of Volkswagen Motorsport and its Polo R WRC. The last victory of the Reds dates back to Rally of Germany with the first success of Dani Sordo which preceded a series of eight victories for the Wolfsburg brand. If Mads Ostberg occupies third place in the Championship, 31 points behind the reigning world champion leader, Citroën is already 55 points behind the head of the Manufacturers' ranking and is only 20 points ahead of M-Sport.

Despite these lower results, Citroën Racing does not intend to give up. Yves Matton confirmed on WRC.com that the French team will still be present next season. “We have a project and a contract for three years, that is to say for 2013, 2014 and 2015. For the moment, nothing can interrupt this program. There is no reason why we should not be there in 2015. We said that after the launch of our WTCC program we would work on the 2015 WRC and that process has now started. We can't say what we will develop on the car, but we have already started thinking about it and the list goes on. »

The director of Citroën also indicated that the current version of the DS3 WRC would receive developments, but only in its asphalt configuration.
