WRC – Matton: “The car works very well”

Le Rally of Argentina will be a chance for Citroën Racing to turn the page on the start of the season and replace the DS3s WRC at the forefront. After three events, the Chevron brand is only in 4th place in the Manufacturers' Championship behind Volkswagen, Hyundai et M-Sport.

“It’s clear that this is not what we expect when aiming for 2nd place in the Championship…”, admitted Yves Matton, director of Citroën Racing, at a press conference at the Rally Argentina. “Sébastien Loeb highlighted the car's performance in Monte Carlo. Mads (Ostberg) also did it in Mexico, fighting until the end to take 2nd place. The car runs very well. Now we need to get better results and maybe be a little luckier too. »

Citroën Racing continues despite all its development work on the DS3 WRC. “The next evolution will be installed in Portugal (May 21-25) with a new aerodynamic package”, specified Yves Matton. “We are working on the main part for the second half of the year, but it's hard to say when it will appear. It will depend on the tests. »

The Rally Argentina will be followed live on AUTOhebdo.fr. The TV Team and Motors TV will offer stage summaries (detailed timetables in the 2008 issue of AUTOhebdo).
