WRC – Meeke strong contender for podium at Monte-Carlo

Kris Meeke will not be the star of the 83rd edition of the Rally Monte Carlo but he nevertheless represents a solid contender among the strong competition lined up for this event. The Northern Irishman distinguished himself on these lands last year for his debut with Citroën Racing by winning the third step of the podium rear Sébastien Ogier and Bryan Bouffier.

If he is not registered to score points in the Constructors' Championship due to the presence of Sébastien Loeb, Kris Meeke hopes to achieve a result of the same order as last year. “I think the work done on the DS3 WRC will allow us to be even more efficient. In Monte-Carlo, Citroën Racing has always achieved great results and has solid experience of the event. And if it is impossible to predict what will happen in this rally, being able to count on such a team is necessarily an asset. My goal will be to fight for the first places », declared the Citroën driver.

After having taken seventh place in the Drivers' Championship last year, Kris Meeke intends to progress for his second full season at the wheel of the DS3 WRC with which he has already achieved four podiums, including a second place in Sardinia. “I am happy to start a new year with the Citroën Total Abu Dhabi World Rally Team. In 2014, I had to discover a large majority of the rallies on the calendar. I learned a lot and realized how important it was to clock up miles. All the drivers have progressed during their second full season and I hope to be no exception to the rule. »
