WRC – Michel Nandan appointed head of Hyundai

Slowly but surely, it is taking shape. Hyundai, who declared last September his desire to make his return in WRC, has just announced the name of his team director. And it is Michel Nandan who will be at the head of this new training starting next year. The Frenchman is a well-known personality in the world of rallying, having notably worked at Peugeot from 1999 to 2005, notably working on the Peugeot 206 WRC.

“I am honored to have been chosen by Hyundai to lead this exciting new arrival in the WRC,” declared the person concerned. “The project is still in its early stages, but things are moving quickly, and I look forward to growing the team as the year progresses. There is a lot to do, we are aware of it, but with our premises in Alzenau (in Germany, near Frankfurt, editor's note) and a very motivated staff, we are already making great progress. »

During the whole year, the new team will work on its i20 in order to be ready for the start of next year. A car whose competitive lifespan should only be limited to the 2014 season, with the Korean manufacturer already planning to launch a new model for 2015.
