WRC – Mikkelsen fears the Monte-Carlo Rally

After having achieved a brilliant end to the season in 2015, with three podiums in a row including a first victory in WRC au Rally from Catalonia, Andreas Mikkelsen is preparing to return to action at the Monte-Carlo Rally held from January 21 to 24.

The 2012 IRC champion hopes to continue his series of podiums in the south of France even if the task proves delicate. “I have to admit that the Monte-Carlo Rally is not one of my favorite events,” said the Scandinavian. “I finished in third place last year (behind his teammates Sébastien Ogier and Jari-Matti Latvala) and it would be fantastic to repeat this result in 2016.”

One of the challenges for Andreas Mikkelsen will be to quickly acclimatize to his new co-driver Anders Jäger who replaces Ola Floene who left to join Mads Ostberg at M-Sport. “It will take us some time to be 100%, but I am very positive about the results of the tests carried out with him. I'm sure we'll find the right pace after a few stages.", added the Volkswagen driver.
