WRC – Monte-Carlo, a life-size test for Hyundai

The pressure builds on the team Hyundai Shell WRT a few days before the departure of Rally Monte Carlo. One year after designing the i20 WRC, the Korean manufacturer is ready to do battle with the competition by starting with a particularly difficult test. Michel Nandan's team can count on Thierry Neuville and Dani Sordo to showcase themselves, even if no objective has been publicly defined, except to see the two cars at the finish.

“To date, we have created a young team of talented professionals in the factory”, comments Michel Nandan, Team Principal of Hyundai Shell WRT. “At the Monte-Carlo Rally, the enormous work we have done so far will be put into practice. This rally was the first major milestone in our development program and we are now ready to compete in this race. This moment is very significant and very special for us. Of course, the Monte-Carlo is a complex and unpredictable rally but it?s great to start in an event of this scale. »

As for his teammate Dani Sordo, the Spaniard already has several podiums in this event and has unusual experience. “We have two very good drivers. We all know that Thierry can reach an incredible level of performance despite his young age while Dani has great experience in the WRC and Monte-Carlo. underlines Michel Nandan. “We definitely have a very good cocktail. We have not set a result objective. Our priority is to finish the race with our two cars in order to learn as much as possible and to use these lessons to improve for the following events. »
