WRC – Neuville in second Hyundai team at Wales Rally GB

Hyundai Motorsport announced that Thierry Neuville will be entered in the second team at Wales Rally GB played from November 12 to 15, the last event of the season, alongside Kevin Abbring. Hayden Paddon will replace the Belgian in the first team, playing with Dani Sordo who will take the wheel of the i20 n7 usually reserved for the former vice-world champion.

The Korean structure was justified by specifying that this change was made so that Thierry Neuville regains his confidence after the official driver of the Asian manufacturer retired from the Tour de Corse in the first special.

“This decision was taken following a productive meeting with the team where we were able to freely discuss the final events of the season and preparation for 2016”, declares Thierry Neuville in the Hyundai press release. “The choice to enter the No. 20 will allow me to concentrate on my driving without having the pressure of the Championship… It is the right decision for me and for the team. »

Hyundai Motorsport moved back to third place in the Manufacturers' Championship at the end of the French event, one point behind Citroën Racing.
