WRC – Neuville: “A distressing end to Monte-Carlo”

Thierry Neuville returns to the forefront with the news Hyundai i20 WRC with which he took third place in the Rally Monte-Carlo, his best result in this event after finishing fifth in 2015.

After fighting for second place against Andreas Mikkelsen (Volkswagen), the 2013 vice-champion, had a difficult end to the rally, encountering transmission problems in the penultimate special.

“It was a distressing end to Monte-Carlo”, commented Thierry Neuville. “We started having transmission issues before the Power Stage, which meant we were running two-wheel drive. It wasn't easy, but we only lost a minute and we were able to save our podium. That was the goal this morning. »

Thierry Neuville is optimistic about the rest of the season after having experienced a difficult end to the season in 2015. “We can be very happy with our weekend. The new generation of the i20 WRC has proven its potential and it feels good to be back on the podium, especially after the difficulties encountered last season,” added the Belgian, whose last podium was at the 2015 Sardinia Rally.
