WRC – Ogier extends his lead in Monte-Carlo

Sébastien Ogier ends the second day of Rally Monte-Carlo with a good lead over its pursuers. If the scratch went to his teammate Jari-Matti Latvala who completed the 20,77km of Clumanc-Lambruisse in 13'55"8, four seconds ahead of the reigning world champion, the latter still achieved a great operation since his direct rival Bryan Bouffier lost half a minute on the last course after having a problem with notes and he is now 51 seconds from the lead of the race. Kris Meeke retains third place with a minute ahead of Mads Ostberg who will not put pressure on his teammate.

Jari-Matti Latvala's performance allows him to climb into the top five with ten seconds ahead of Elfyn Evans who lost 22 seconds to the Finn on the last course. Mikko Hirvonen remains in seventh place ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen. Jaroslav Melicharek remains in ninth position while Mateo Gamba completes the top ten on his Peugeot 207 S2000 in front of the Fiesta R5 of Yuriy Protasov who leads the WRC2 ahead of Robert Barrable and Lorenzo Bertelli. But the latter two are nevertheless ahead of the Citroën DS3 R3 of Sébastien Chardonnet.

The final stage of the Monte-Carlo Rally will offer two special stages. The crews will face the Col de Turini tomorrow from 14:48 p.m. Videos of the event can be found on this link.
