WRC – Ogier narrowly leads Latvala at Rally Spain

Sébastien Ogier (Volkswagen) took advantage of Terra Alta's second pass to regain the lead of the Rally of Spain after handing it over to his teammate Jari-Matti Latvala in the early afternoon. The three-time world champion returns to the service park with a lead of four seconds over his Finnish rival.

Ott Tänak (Ford) is still in the top three, seven seconds behind the second Polo R WRC while maintaining the advantage over Dani sordo (Hyundai) looking forward to meeting the asphalt in the next two stages.

Mads ostberg (Citroën) is trying to catch up following his puncture during the first pass. The Norwegian was able to get back to less than three seconds of the Spaniard by having almost eight seconds ahead of Andreas Mikkelsen (Volkswagen), a little more comfortable in the second loop, even if he is not ahead Hayden Paddon (Hyundai) only one second.

Chris Meeke (Citroën) took the advantage over Elfyn Evans (Ford) which slipped to tenth place less than six seconds behind Thierry Neuville (Hyundai). Stéphane Lefebvre (Citroën) is still outside the top ten, after suffering from a puncture in Terra Alta (SS9). The French rookie hopes to perform better during the next days contested on asphalt.

The Skoda Fabia R5s compete in WRC2. Pontus Tidemand leads the category with half a minute ahead of Jan Kopecky and Esapekka Lappi. Éric Camilli (Fiesta R5) occupies fifth place between Nasser Al-Attiyah (Fabia R5) and Quentin Giordano (DS3 RRC).
