WRC – Ogier and Latvala tied at Wales Rally GB shakedown
The times achieved by Volkswagen Motorsport at the Wales Rally GB shakedown are promising as Sébastien Ogier and Jari-Matti Latvala finished tied by achieving a benchmark of 2’01”4 with three tenths ahead of the DS 3 WRC of Kris Meeke, their closest pursuer.
But the world champion manufacturer is especially concerned about the state of health of Andreas Mikkelsen who missed the tests and who could be withdrawn from the last event of the season.
The Hyundai finish in group fire with Thierry Neuville and Hayden Paddon completing the top five ahead Dani sordo. Mads ostberg places the second DS 3 WRC in seventh position ahead Elfyn Evans (ford), Kevin Abring (Hyundai) and Stéphane Lefebvre (DS 3) in the top ten. The Frenchman is ahead Robert Kubica (Ford) who only made two passes.
The first stage of Wales Rally GB will begin this Friday, November 13 from 10:27 a.m. with the 32,14km Hafren. The crews will have to tackle 131km timed on the first day.
