WRC – Ogier and Volkswagen enter formation

The two super special stages of the second stage of the Rally from Australia did not upset the ranking even if Sébastien Ogier took the opportunity to sign two new scratches. The leader of the event has almost 12 seconds ahead of his rival Jari-Matti Latvala before the last day, while Andreas Mikkelsen once again completes the provisional podium with 13 seconds behind the Finn. However, the Norwegian only has a 1" lead over Kris Meeke who always disrupts the Volkswagens and who will still benefit from a better starting position, the order being fixed before the passage of the super specials.

The ranking saw no further changes in the rest of the peloton. Mikko Hirvonen still holds his fifth place ahead of Mads Ostberg who is only seven seconds ahead of Hayden Paddon. Thierry Neuville remains eighth, six seconds ahead of Elfyn Evans, while Robert Kubica completes the top ten ahead of Chris Atkinson.

On the other hand, the hierarchy is disrupted in WRC2 since Nasser Al-Attiyah took the lead with less than two seconds ahead of Yazeed Al-Rajhi. Jari Ketomaa remains on the provisional podium despite a rollover but his position remains in limbo as the stewards analyze the incident.
