WRC – PG Andersson will have his chance aboard a Ford Fiesta RS WRC

Per-Gunnar (PG) Andersson to make his return to the World Rally Championship (WRC). The 33-year-old Swedish driver and his co-driver Emil Axelsson will be entrusted with a Ford Fiesta RS WRC for the AT Rally Team, a team founded by Ukrainian driver Alexey Tamrazov. If the information had already leaked in recent days, we now know a little more about the new Nordic program.

Double J-WRC champion, including once in 2007 with Suzuki, “PG” joined the Japanese brand?s factory team at the wheel of an SX4 WRC the following year, before the Japanese team?s program was interrupted. His last appearance this year was in Portugal, when he replaced Oleksiy Tamrazov aboard a Fiesta S2000. Andersson won three stages in WRC 2 before retiring on SS4 after hitting a rock and breaking his suspension.

“It’s really incredible that he’s giving me a chance to drive” comments PG Andersson. “I thought my season was more or less over but Alexey gave me this opportunity. I feel really happy and grateful. » To get to know this car that he has never driven, the Swedish driver will have one or two days of testing before each rally and even plans to register for additional events to train. “Alexey wants us to ride in the car as much as possible and I will probably take part in a rally in Estonia”, the Nordic further clarified.

Per-Gunnar Andersson will officially return to the rally in Sardinia, Italy, then take part in the events in Finland, Germany, France, Spain and Great Britain.
