WRC – Sébastien Ogier, the other winner in Argentina

Sébastien Loeb was no longer able to be caught following the exit of the road of Sébastien Ogier which left almost 40 seconds in the incident. The Volkswagen driver did not want to take any unnecessary risks, aware that the gap which separated him from the nine-time world champion was too great. The Frenchman preferred to secure the points for second place while attacking in the Power Stage to win two additional points. Morale is high for the former Citroën driver who is 54 points ahead of the Alsatian even though the latter is not playing for the title this year. “Second place is a great result for the Championship.”, comments the Gapençais. “I have to thank my team this time. It was a rally incredibly tough and difficult and my performance was not perfect. It’s a shame not to have been able to maintain the fight with Sébastien Loeb until the end. I would like to congratulate him on his victory. »

With such a lead in the Championship, Sébastien Ogier can calmly approach the Acropolis Rally contested next month. The Volkswagen driver distinguished himself there in 2011 by winning the victory and the latter will have the added advantage of no longer having to face the Alsatian who will only return to the Rallye de France? Alsace. “Now it’s time for me to look to the future. We will have a test session with the next rally in Greece. We will improve the Polo R WRC and we can fight for first place again in four weeks. »
