WRC – Sébastien Ogier leader at Rally Mexico

Le Rally of Mexico started last night with two super special stages, the 1km SS1,01 and the 2km SS4,6, traced in Guanajuato. These first courses contested on asphalt allowed Sébastien Ogier (Volkswagen) to emerge as leader with a small second ahead of the closest competition.

By winning SS1, Thierry Neuville (Hyundai) was the first leader of the Rally Mexico. But the Belgian finally fell 1"2 behind the Championship leader and is in second position tied with Andreas Mikkelsen (Volkswagen).

Jari-Matti Latvala (Volkswagen) follows less than two seconds from the head of the race by preceding the DS3 WRC by Mads Ostberg and Kris Meeke. Ott Tänak (Ford) is in seventh place ahead of Robert Kubica (Ford) slowed down by a damaged wheel. Dani Sordo (Hyundai) and Lorenzo Bertelli (Ford) complete the top ten.

Yuriy Protasov (Fiesta RRC) leads WRC2 ahead of Jari Ketomaa (Fiesta R5) and Nicolas Fuchs (Fiesta R5).
