WRC – Sébastien Ogier will benefit from the sweep at the start

Sébastien Ogier could be able to create a good lead in the Rally of the Acropolis at the end of the first stage contested today with the two special stages of Kineta-Pissia (47,7km) and Kineta (26,05km). After signing the scratch in the qualifying special, the Volkswagen driver chose to start behind in the hope of benefiting from the sweep achieved by his opponents. The Championship leader will start from 11th behind Dani Sordo who was closest to the Frenchman during qualifying.

The other crews opted for the same strategy, except Andreas Mikkelsen who chose to start from third position. Khalid Al-Qassimi will open the road ahead of Martin Prokop. After setting a bad time in the qualifying special, Jari-Matti Latvala will have to start from fourth place ahead of Mikko Hirvonen and Nasser Al-Attiyah. Mads Ostberg will start from seventh place ahead Thierry Neuville and Evgeny Novikov.

The start of the Acropolis Rally will be at 17:28 p.m. French time and will be followed all weekend on AUTOhebdo.fr. The complete program of the event can be found here.
