WRC – Thierry Neuville signs for 3 years at Hyundai

AUTOhebdo is able to confirm the departure of Thierry Neuville for Hyundai Motorsport at the end of the year. The Belgian signed a three-year contract with the Korean manufacturer which continues testing sessions with the i20 WRC so that she is ready for the Rally Monte-Carlo played on the weekend of January 19. This is a great success for the Asian brand, which has one of the greatest hopes in the discipline. Thierry Neuville, co-driven by Nicolas Gilsoul, occupies second place in the Championship after having notably signed five podiums in a row between the Acropolis Rally and Australia.

Hyundai Motorsport will still have to make its choice among its test drivers. The Korean manufacturer could be tempted to align Bryan Bouffier who has solid development experience after having participated in the development of the Peugeot 207 S2000. But Chris Atkinson and Juho Hänninen also have arguments to make and are just as deserving of becoming Thierry Neuville's teammate.

Hyundai has already announced that it will make an announcement tomorrow.
