WRC – Thierry Neuville wants to “keep the same approach” in Sardinia

Si Thierry Neuville is in good form after his third place in the rally from the Acropolis, he remains particularly cautious when arriving in Sardinia. “Sometimes when confidence is at a high level after a good result, like the one we had in Greece, it is tempting to push your level of play even further”, expresses the Qatar pilot M-Sport WRT. “But it's at times like this that mistakes happen, especially in an event like this where the stages are very difficult”, he is wary. “So the plan will be to keep the same approach that we had in the last two events: drive smart and make sure we get to the finish while gaining as much experience as possible.”

Concerning the Italian event this weekend, the Belgian does not admit to being particularly delighted. “It’s not my favorite rally of the year”, notes the driver of the Ford Fiesta RS WRC. “The stages are quite technical and very tight, which is difficult for the driver. There's not much chance of sliding the car wide, and if you make a mistake by going too wide, it can cost you. There may be a lot of stones in the path which you should be aware of. A good setting is very important if you want to play among the best times. »
