WRC – A great moment in Ogier’s career

Sébastien Ogier won at Rally of Sweden one of its most beautiful victories in WRC. The double world champion, who was three seconds behind his teammate Andreas Mikkelsen, and only 1” ahead of the Hyundai de Thierry Neuville, finally won the Power Stage by six seconds ahead of the Belgian, while the Norwegian had to settle for the last step of the podium after making a mistake.

Si Sébastien Ogier scores 26th WRC victory, equalizing the performance of Carlos Sainz, this success will remain engraved in the memory of the Volkswagen driver for a long time. “It was an incredible final and I'm really proud of this victory. My first victory in Sweden which dates back two years when I beat Sébastien there Loeb was fantastic, but this one was even harder to get. It was one of the most exciting endings to watch, not only for the spectators but also for me. »

Sébastien Ogier could well see his supremacy challenged by his opponents, but the Championship leader has in the meantime 23 points ahead of Thierry Neuville and Andreas Mikkelsen after two rallies which he won. “I feel sorry for Andreas who was so close to his first victory and was involved in an intense fight with us. However, I am sure that this will not be the last time we compete for victory. He and Thierry Neuville produced impressive performances”, underlined the double world champion.
