WRC – VW plays modesty in Monte-Carlo

Volkswagen did not skimp on the preparation of its team and the development of the Polo R WRC. The new car, which will make its competition debut next week with the Rally Monte-Carlo, carried out 20km of tests after 000 months of preparation where Sébastien Ogier has developed the Polo so that it is ready to take on the Monegasque special stages. If the Frenchman, who will play alongside Jari-Matti Latvala, is impatient to face his former teammate Sébastien Loeb, the German manufacturer's instructions have already been established and patience will be required for this first official outing of the Polo R WRC.

“I can’t wait until we’re finally there.”, comments sports director Jost Capito. “The entire Volkswagen team is looking forward to the debut of the Polo WRC. The World Championship rallies in the premier category of the WRC is new territory for the team... The Monte will give us a first indication of our level compared to the opposition. Our opponents already have two years of experience with the regulations in force since 2011 and have competed in the WRC for many years. Our goal for Monte Carlo is to gain as much experience as possible and finish with both cars. »
