Engaged on a Hyundai i20 R5, Thierry Neuville had signed two scratch times on the first five special stages of the Rally of Ypres in Belgium, and was in the lead before the second loop of the first stage yesterday and before the second passage through Dikkebus.
A SS which will be fatal to the driver of the Korean brand, who made a mistake and rolled over at the exit of a left turn. Despite the damage caused, Hyundai Motorsport has confirmed that the driver WRC with the i20 Coupe, could leave this Saturday for the second stage.
In the general classification at the end of the first stage, it is the Frenchman Bryan Bouffier (Skoda Fabia R5) who dominates the rally, with 21″9 ahead of Kevin Abbring (Peugeot 208 T16 R5) and 28″9 over Vincent Verschueren (Skoda Fabia R5), passed in front of Kevin Princen (Skoda Fabia R5) after SS6.
